She was born with a birth defect called spastic cerebral palsy, which left her with difficulty in moving her limbs.

Amy has been left to live with her father, a doctor. She doesn’t care much about her past because she lives a normal life. When Amy is forced to meet her parents on one of her school trips to California, her mother’s secret is revealed. Things start to get complicated and Amy finds herself facing many new challenges in life.

In order to understand Amy’s situation, you must first look into her past and the medical condition that she was born with. The spastic cerebral palsy that Amy has is caused by spasms in the muscles in her arms and legs, along with the brain cells that control them being damaged. When Amy goes to visit her parents, she tries to tell them what has happened to her, but they don’t believe her story. Her father even goes so far as to put her in jail while she is in his office, because he thinks she could potentially harm herself or even be sexually abused.

After many years of living with their lies and her father’s anger, Amy grows tired of living in denial. She decides to seek out the help of someone who understands what Amy is dealing with, namely Dr. Paulson.

Dr. Paulson explains to Amy that her spastic cerebral palsy can’t be cured and that there are no drugs available for it. It is possible to control the spasms in her limbs so that she can move them, but she won’t be able to do much with them. Her movements will remain at their normal levels. Because of this, she will still be limited in her movements. There is no way to change the spasms. and Paulson has to assume that Amy has permanent paralysis.

Amy begins to feel frustrated and embarrassed because of the fact that her father is still refusing to believe her story. However, things get worse when Paulson informs her mother that Amy must be taken away from her. This causes a lot of stress for both Amy and Paulson, and it ends up causing problems between the two.
