Review of “Naked Lunch”
Emmanuelle Chriqui (pronounced Shi-kee-kee) is a very unique actress who has been both in everything and nothing alike. She was even in a cult television series called “The Dead Zone” and a series called “The Black Mirror” but both of those were forgettable. The reason she was so popular in the past few years was because she had been a guest star on a show called “TGS” for which she was nominated for an Academy Award. She also appeared on “NCIS” and played the character of Anya Taylor in that show. But she’s most famous for playing a role in the movie “Naked Lunch”.
What makes this movie so good is that there is nothing to dislike about it. It’s just a nice movie, one you would watch with your family. Even though it’s quite a bit different from the rest of the Emile Chriqui films that she has made, it still manages to be very entertaining and well worth your time and money.
You can tell that the movie is set in the year 1998, after the fall of the Berlin wall, because of the many changes that take place during the film. You may even find yourself wondering how Emile managed to keep such a straight face all throughout the entire film. It’s because she plays a character who is completely realistic. We all know what it’s like to have to come to grips with the fact that your husband or your best friend’s husband is a total freak and has some sort of obsession with the most innocent of things that we find disturbing.
Emile is an amazing actor because she plays such a normal person with the right amount of eccentricity and weirdness in her character. We can all relate to that, and we can all respect her for being so brave and willing to take such a bold stance in the movie. Even if her character is a little out of the ordinary, she has the ability to make that character believable by giving us a good enough reason to believe that the character is real.
“Naked Lunch” features some of the best nudity you will ever see in a movie. Emmanuelle wears very revealing costumes that reveal so much of her body. Her character is also covered up in her underwear and nude in other scenes, which makes the movie even sexier. I have never seen a movie in which I found nudity more erotic or sexy than the movie that Emile was in and she did an amazing job of it.
This movie is not for everyone, but if you are not expecting anything like “The Departed”Catch Me If You Can”, you will be pleasantly surprised by “Naked Lunch”. Just go see it right now.
